We hope you come to J-Con and enjoy all we have to offer. However, we do have some basic rules will like everyone to follow whilst at J-Con. These are put in place to ensure the safety of yourself and others. Please respect them. If you don't, you could be asked to leave or even worse, we'll set a Ninja on you. ^_^
Convention Behavior
1: No running inside the venue.
2: Any photographs taken, must be done so with the permission of whoever you are taking the picture of.
3: No alcohol allowed on the premises.
4: Any filming must only be done with permission of whoever you are filming.
5: No inappropriate or lewd behavior.
6: NO ONE is to go onto the stage unless asked to do so.
7. Wrist Bands to be worn at all times at the convention (provided at the door).
8. Don't touch other people/people's cosplay without permission - you may damage it.
Props/Costume Rules
1: All costumes must not break any decency laws. Make sure you keep anything covered that should be covered on the local park - we have little kids at J-Con remember!
2: Offensive material is banned in any way on outfits. This includes swear words on t-shirts, any anti-religious, fascist or racist imagery (such as Swastikas). This is for your safety in getting to and from the convention as well as keeping everyone happy at J-Con.
3. Any costumes that require 'structure' (such as a wooden frame) must be made safe, with no pointed sides and no nails/screws sticking out. It must also be no bigger than a door frame in width and height for health and safety reasons.
4. All attendees must wear some form of footwear at all times.
The following rules apply to weapons and props. If your cosplay is found to be in breach of these rules, we reserve the right to remove that item from you until the end of the convention.
Props allowed:
L.A.R.P. approved weapons.
Props made from foam, plastic, materials, soft/blunt wood, cardboard & paper.
Toy weapons (not including ballistics - see below).
Metal spikes/objects are allowed on costumes providing they are under 5cm in length and not sharp.
Props NOT allowed:
Real weapons of ANY sort.
Real weapons with blunt blades (e.g. replica Samurai Swords, Bokkens etc).
Ballistic weapons/props (Anything that fires, e.g. Bow & Arrows, Crossbows, B.B. Guns etc).
Anything that produces fire.
Anything made from glass or ceramic.
Gun Prop Rules:
Following J-Con 7's fun and games with the police, we thought it best to mention some important rules to follow with prop guns.
1: All guns must have an orange band around the end of the barrel. This is the standard UK rule for toy guns to show they aren't real.
2: Keep your prop concealed on the way to and from the convention.
3: If you leave the venue during J-Con, leave your prop with the door staff. It will be looked after until you return.
